What a great wife!

My wife is the greatest! I've been working on my MBA for 2 years and will finish on June 9. The school's graduation was last weekend so she gave me my graduation gift. When she asked me a couple months ago what I would want, I jokingly told her she could get me one of those baseball tours.

Knowing about Jay Buckley tours, I went to his site (http://www.jaybuckley.com/) and looked at this year's tours. If I were to be crazy enough to get one, this was the place to go. I looked through several of the tours and found a couple that were interesting. The challenge was finding one that fit my schedule and hit the cities I wanted to hit. I know my wife wouldn't want to go and that I would love for my dad to go. He's never been to Boston or Yankee Stadium so I was trying to find tours that hit both of those.

I finally found one that fit all those requirements but it was too expensive. It also included a game at Wrigley and the Hall of Fame induction cermonies for Cal Ripken and Tony Gwynn. I printed the schedule to show Jean but never thought she would actually do it. Guess what? She did! She made arrangements with my dad and they reserved the seats. We go July 27 - August 5 and you can see all the details by looking at Trip 19 on the site.

I may try to post some updates here between now and then. My primary intent is to post updates and possibly photos during the trip. This is my first attempt at blogging so we'll see how it goes.

Hi Brian- my name is Debbie Taylor, and my husband Tim and I are going on your Buckley Trip! We found your blog while searching on the internet. We are in our 30s and live in Fairview, Oregon, which is a Portland suburb. This will be our 4th trip. When we did our first one in 2003 we figured it would be the trip of a lifetime and that we would probably not do another one. Well, Jay Buckley has us hooked! Last year we took a hiatus and went on an Alaska cruise with my parents but we were bound and determined to go once again this year. Tim's mom is joining us for the first time and is very excited as she's never been back East before! If you have any questions about the trips in general please feel free to ask as we have lots of positive feedback to provide. We look foward to meeting you in a few weeks!

Thanks for the comment Debbie. We are excited. We got the list of participants last weekend and I see most of the people are from the west coast. I live in Indianapolis but have family in the Pacific Northwest and work closely with a vendor in downtown Portland. I'm also in my 30s but my wife would never do one of these trips (not a sports fan). We also have 3 boys and it would be hard to find someone to watch them for that long. The best man from my wedding did a Buckly tour a few years ago and loved it. I have already been to Fenway and Wrigley and driven by most of the rest of the parks. I can't wait!
